Walk-In Centers for Medical Treatment

Stop, Think and Decide Before Rushing to a Hospital Emergency Room

Anthem has expanded its network of walk-in health centers that offer extended hours in the evening and on weekends. No appointment or referral is needed, you can just “walk in”. When you use an Anthem network walk-in health center your copay is the same as a visit to your primary care physician.  Visits to a non-network walk-in center will result in the same copay as an out-of-network doctor's visit.

A walk-in health center is not an emergency room. The wait times are generally far shorter than that of an emergency department, and the out-of-pocket expense is typically less.  If your family doctor is unavailable, if it’s convenient, a walk-in health center may be an option for you. Walk-In Health Centers typically treat a variety of non life-threatening issues including:

  • minor lacerations
  • sports injuries
  •  minor burns
  • sore throats
  • sprains and strains
  • ear-aches
  • colds
  •  flu

If it's convenient, visit a Walk-In Center for a time-saving, cost-efficient way for you to receive non-life threatening emergency care.  Click here for Frequently Asked Questions regarding Walk-In Centers.
